However, they have a few flaws that keep them from being our top choice. For instance, the Q5's navigation system does not have AI-powered obstacle avoidance, so it's prone to get caught up in socks and shoes and couldn't navigate tightly packed rooms very well in our tests. Also, it doesn't have an image sensor that lets it see the corners of an area.

It's still a great option, especially if you want to save money on a iRobot Roomba and you have a bare-floored home or office. It's also very quiet and can work when you're at work or going to school. The only thing it doesn't have that you can't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective at mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes that don't hold on well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. This is something we haven't seen before on other robot vacuum/mop combination.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

With a sleek circular design that appears like a regular Roomba than the competitors' compact models this mop and robot vacuum is among the most attractive looking models in our reviews. iRobot's latest flagship model also is among the most intelligent model, with features that are cutting-edge like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).

It's also the sole robot vacuum or mop that scored a perfect 10 out of 10 in our tests. This is thanks to a mix of high-tech sensors, including a structured light system, a camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.

As with other iRobot models like the X40 is user-friendly, with an intuitive mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. The only issue is that it's still quite loud that could be an issue if you use it in the morning before work, or at night when you try to fall asleep.

It's also quite expensive however, not as much as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally powerful and more attractive. This is a two-in-one vacuum that is very efficient, but it's more expensive and create more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the line robot vacuums that mop mop and vacuum. It has a range of features that are advanced and will help you forget your chores. If you own a larger home, you should consider selecting a robot vacuum and mop that comes with the option of cleaning zones or spots. This allows you to instruct the robot on which part of your home must be cleaned using the app or voice control. A stair mode can be useful if you have a number of furniture. Additionally, a recharge and resume function that lets your robot vacuum take over exactly where it left off is ideal for busy families.

It's self-sufficient too, with a full-featured app and a self-emptying, washable base.

The iRobot app is designed to help you navigate the mapping process, which gathers information on your floorplan as well as any "no go" areas that you've marked on the map. You can use it to create cleaning schedules, set up the perfect spot for cleaning or prioritize your most filthy rooms for better performance. The app also gives access to a host of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom maps, and advanced settings for your cleaning.

Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums, which means it is able to reach corners and underneath furniture more easily. It also has a powerful 8,000 Pascal suction and intelligent combs for hair of pets. You can also create a spot-cleaner that will thoroughly clean an area.
